The Huigen azide-alkyne cycloaddition was used as key step for the synthesis of new piperazinyl-triazolo-cyclobutene derivatives from the azido-methylenylcyclobutene intermediate in good yields. Dihydroxylation following by desilylation on these compounds provides four new enantiomerically enriched triazolo-cyclobutane nucleoside analogues.
