ASSESSMENT OF THE TROPHIC STATUS IN SOME LAKES WITHIN HANOI INNER CITY

Abstract


Urban lakes in Hanoi play different important roles in the human life such as acclimatization, culture, tourist, etc. However, under the pressure of urbanization coupled with unreasonable  water sewage collector system, and pollutants discharged directly into lakes have been increased, causing water pollution in lakes. This paper presents the monitoring results of water quality in 10 lakes in Hanoi during the period from March 2014 to February 2015. Basing on the monitoring results and on the classification methods of Hakanson and Carlson, we could assess the trophic status of these lakes. The results showed that most lakes were classified at different eutrophic levels, decreasing as following trend: Ba Mau  > Giang Vo > Ngoc Khanh  > Truc Bach  > Thanh Cong > Ho Tay > Thien Quang  > Bay Mau > Ho Guom > Thu Le.
