FABRICATION OF CELLULOSE-BASED CHITOSAN COATING ADSORBENTS FOR CAPTURE TO CADMIUM (II) AND ZINC (II)

Abstract


Cellulose fiberous adsorbent (CCCF) was prepared from sugacane agasse by coating chitosan  on the fiber surface. The chitosan layer coated on the cellulose fiber enhanced adsorption to Cd2+ and Zinc2+. High efficency of the CCCF of removal % for the Cd (II) and Zn (II) was  with  93.7 % and 93.0 %, respectively and the adsorption capacity was 2.0 mg/g.
